Verdi Macaw description

The Verdi macaw is one of the first generation of hybrid macaws. They come from a cross breed of the Buffon’s macaw and Scarlet macaw, its is sometimes referred to as the great military macaw. The Scarlet Macaw is very beautiful, inquisitive, and intelligent, but a bit more boisterous than other macaws so requires good socialization. The Buffon’s Macaw is quite docile and affectionate. This mixture makes for a very intelligent and trainable pet, that can also be an affectionate companion. But it will also need a firm consistent hand in training, especially as it matures. Hybid Macaws are generally a mixture of two macaw breeds, this is generally done for colors, but the offsprings are always influenced by the characteristics of both parents. Hybrids are generally rarely found in the wild.
